INSTRUCTIONS

1. Lift car on jack stands and remove front tires

2. Remove factory steering box and all linkage

3. Remove bolt on steering column at firewall and remove factory steering shaft

4. Install the Spohn manual rack onto the Spohn k-member mounts.

5. Install the bump-steer kit from the bottom of the spindle.

6. Attach the bottom of the Spohn steering shaft to the rack. Make sure you line the u-

joint’s set screw up with the slot on the rack’s output shaft (marked on your rack

with a red dot), then tighten the set screw.

7. Loosen the set screw on the center u-joint. The Spohn steering shaft slides in to the

factory upper shaft connection and gets bolted in place using the supplied bolt and

nut.

8. Tighten the set screw on the center u-joint. Make sure the steering shaft is flush with

the bottom of the u-joint housing. DO NOT bottom out the steering shaft in the u-

joint!

9. If you’re not using a Spohn k-member you may need to shorten the Spohn steering

shaft due to different k-member designs.

10. Get a front end alignment

Important: Make sure the steering shaft is not bottomed out in the u-joints. This will

impede the u-joints range of motion and ruin the u-joints!
