INSTRUCTIONS

1. Front Sway Bar Removal: The front sway bar will drop when the bolts are removed, so

remove with caution. Hold onto or support the front sway bar and then remove the four
(15mm head) mounting bolts that secure the sway bar bushings to the frame. Allow the

sway bar to swing down and rest on the steering linkage.

2. Using a 1-5/16” socket remove the steering box sector shaft bolt and lock washer.

3. Using a 1-1/4” deep socket install the new silver zinc plated sector shaft nut and lock

washer. Tighten to 180 ft./lbs.

4. Slide the steering box support brace into place, where the mounting feet are positioned in

between the sway bar bushings and the frame. When the sway bar is moved into place the

large diameter hole on the bearing plate will be approximately centered on the sector shaft
nut.

5. Install (snug, not tight) the four supplied (15mm head) flanged head bolts to re-secure the

sway bar and the steering brace to the frame, while allowing for the final mounting position

to be fine tuned. The bracket is aligned when the sector shaft nut is centered in the hole. It
may be necessary to loosen the sway bar end link bolts (15mm head) to ease the process.

6. Install the two bolts from the top and down through the small holes in the bearing

mounting plate so that the threads are hanging through the plate.

7. Before installing the bearing assembly, apply some Never-Seize to the sector shaft to help

assist future removal. Loosen the set screws in the bearing using a 1/8” Allen wrench.

Install the bearing assembly over the sector shaft nut until the bearing block comes to rest
on the support plate (noting that the bearing block may not be flat to the plate at this

point). With the two bolts slid through the holes in the bearing block, install the lock
washers and nuts. Snug them but do not tighten.

8. Tighten the four sway bar bushing mounting bolts (15mm head) to 40 ft./lbs.
9. Ensure you have free movement (rotation) of the steering box sector shaft nut. If it is not

free moving undo the sway bar bushing mounting bolts and re-adjust.

10. Fully tighten the bearing mounting nuts (3/4” head).

11. Remove the set screws and apply Loctite. Install and tighten the set screws using a 1/8”

Allen wrench. Check that the grease fitting is tight. Use a standard grease gun to apply

grease to the bearing. Grease bearing at every oil change.
