JUMP STARTING THE ENGINE

In the event of a low or exhausted battery, the engine
on your light tower can be jump started.

To jump start the engine:

1 Open the left side panel door to gain access to the

battery.

2 Connect jumper cables to the battery terminals on

the battery of the starting vehicle, red to the positive
terminal and black to the negative terminal.

3 Connect the jumper cables to the battery in your

trailer, red to the positive terminal and black to the
negative terminal.

4 Start the starting vehicle.

5 Attempt to start the engine on the light trailer.

6 When the engine on the light trailer starts, wait a bit,

then remove the jumper cables from the battery in
the trailer, then from the battery in the starting
vehicle.

STOPPING THE ENGINE

EMERGENCY STOP (E-STOP) PLUNGER

The Emergency Stop, or “E-Stop” plunger is a kill switch
for the entire system. In an emergency, the E-Stop
plunger can be pressed to completely shut down the
operation of the Mine Spec II trailer.

When the E-Stop plunger is pressed the engine stops,
the lights are turned off, and the tower remains up.
Pulling the E-Stop plunger out resets the system and
the engine can be restarted.

BATTERY DISCONNECT

A lockable switch that renders the trailer inoperable.
Can be used to prevent tampering and vandalism when
the trailer is left overnight or for extended periods of
time.

CHAWLWYN VALVE [EMERGENCY AIR SHUTOFF
VALVE] - (OPTIONAL)

Sucks out air to shut the engine down in case of
overspeed situation. Pull the red T-handle (under one of
the main side covers) to kill the engine manually.
Should be done once a day. Unit should be on a flat
surface, with outriggers in place beforehand.

The valve also works automatically. If the engine
overspeeds (for example due to combustible gas in the
surrounding air), the valve closes as a result of
more/faster air being sucked into the engine. No user
interaction is required. When the faster air closes the
valve, it actually keeps any air from getting to the
engine, so it dies.

CAUTION

Exercise extreme caution not to touch the ends of the

jumper cables together when they are connected to

a battery. Touching the ends of the cables together

can cause a fire or possibly an explosion.

NOTICE - Turn off the lights

Turn off the lights before you stop the engine.
