An interface module adapter is required only when you install an S12500-X LPU with the
dimensions 39.8 × 399.2 × 512.1 mm (1.57 × 15.72 × 20.16 in) on the S12500X-AF
switch.
仅当在
S12500X-AF系列交换机上安装S12500-X业务板（高39.8mm，宽399.2mm，深
512.1mm）时才需要安装业务板适配器。在S12500X-AF系列交换机上安装S12500X-AF业务

For heat dissipation of the adjacent LPUs, you must install an LPU in the slot where an
interface module adapter is installed. If you do not need to install an LPU in the slot, remove
the interface module adapter and install a filler panel.
安装了业务板适配器的槽位必须安装业务板，如果不需要安装业务板，请拆卸业务板适配器
并安装假面板，否则会影响相邻槽位单板散热。
The S12500-X interface modules (also called LPUs) are compatible with the S12500X-AF switch,
but the S12500X-AF switch has higher and wider LPU slots than the S12500-X switch. To install
an S12500-X LPU on an S12500X-AF switch, install an interface module adapter in the LPU slot.
The interface module adapter provides air vents at the front and rear. Ambient air flows in
through the air vents at the front.
S12500X-AF系列交换机兼容S12500-X系列交换机适配的业务板（简称S12500-X业务板）。但
是，
S12500X-AF系列交换机业务板槽位比S12500-X业务板更高、更宽。因此，当您需要在

Keep the removed filler panel secure for future use.

Installing an interface module adapter 安装业务板适配器
Before you install or remove the LPU, wear an ESD wrist strap and make sure the strap has a
good skin contact and is correctly grounded.

Loosen the captive screws on the filler panel with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the filler
