Introduction

The BP-MMP is a single-piece, powder-coated steel backplate designed to accommodate the MMP

enclosure, a Magnum inverter, and the inverter hood together; making the complete system

appear more seamless. This backplate also provides the necessary requirement to provide a

noncombustible mounting surface required when mounting the inverter on a wall. Designed with

PEM (i.e. internally threaded) nuts, the backplate is shipped with ten ¼-20 x ¾” Hex head bolts

for mounting the MMP enclosure, a Magnum inverter, and the inverter hood.

Installation

Mount the backplate to the wall using appropriate hardware (not supplied). The mounting holes

on this backplate are spaced to accommodate wall studs that are placed 16” on center. If the

mounting holes don’t fall on wall studs, you can attached a sheet of plywood or APA rated sheath-

ing on the wall. The backplate weights 10.5 lbs. (4.8 kg) and with the MMP enclosure, inverter,

and inverter hood the total weight could be as much as 100 lbs. (45 kg), so ensure the backplate

is securely mounted.

Instructions for Installing Components onto the

MMP Backplate:
After the backplate is securely mounted, use the

ten Hex head bolts (supplied) and the steps below

to mount the MMP enclosure (fi rst), the Magnum in-

verter (second), and the inverter hood (last) to the

backplate; refer to Figure 1.

1

Mounting the MMP Enclosure

a. Take four of the Hex head bolts and screw them

in halfway into the backplate in the location that

the MMP enclosure will be mounted.

b. Hang the MMP enclosure onto the four Hex head

bolts using the MMP enclosure’s keyhole slots.

c. Tighten the Hex head bolts to secure the MMP

enclosure onto the backplate.

2

Mounting the Magnum Inverter

a. Ensure the top plate of the MMP enclosure is

removed and place the Magnum inverter into the

top of the MMP enclosure.

b. Secure the Magnum inverter to the backplate

with four more of the Hex head bolts using the

inverter’s keyhole slots.

c. Tighten the Hex head bolts to secure the Magnum

inverter onto the backplate.

3

Mounting the Inverter Hood

a. Screw the last two Hex head bolts halfway into

the inverter hood location on the backplate.

b. Place the inverter hood on these screws and

tighten securely.
