J Use only the battery type recommended for this appliance.
J Insert the battery correctly into the battery compartment,
observing the correct polarity (+ and –).
J Check battery regularly for signs of expiry.
J If you disregard these instructions and advice, the battery
may discharge beyond its minimum voltage, thus increasing
the chance of leakage. If the battery leaks, remove it from
the device immediately to prevent the device from being
damaged!
J Check regularly that the batteries are not leaking.
J Leaked or damaged batteries can cause chemical
burns if they come into contact with the skin; in such
cases you must wear suitable protective gloves.
J Remove battery if appliance is not used for long periods.
J Alkaline battery recommended.
J Do not use rechargeable batteries.
J An exhausted battery is to be removed from the appliance.
J The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.

Inserting the battery
j Press against the marking on the narrow side of the battery
compartment cover
3 until you feel a resistance. This re-
leases the tabs from their openings.
