ADJUSTABLE GEARBOX SUPPORT

Thank you for purchasing a Sealey product. Manufactured to a high standard this product will, if used according to these instructions

and properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance.

2. INTRODUCTION & APPLICATIONS

The ADT3 adjustable gearbox support has a rated capacity of 500kg and has been

manufactured to a high specification to fit Sealey Vertical Transmission Jacks, in place of the

standard fixed saddle, thereby increasing the range of transmissions which can be accomodated.

A fully adjustable saddle with forward, backward and side to side tilt.

WARNING! Ensure all preliminary checks are carefully carried out before using

gearbox support and jack. Immediately repair or replace damaged or missing

parts (use an authorised service agent). Ensure use of genuine parts only.

Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.

WARNING! Follow the safety instructions issued with the transmission jack.

Before use ensure the transmission weight and size do not exceed the capacity of the

gearbox support or the jack.

WARNING! Ensure load is placed level and centrally on gearbox support and

is fixed in place before attempting to lift, lower, or transport load. Always use

load restraint chain and attachments to stabilise and secure the load to the

gearbox support.

DO NOT use the gearbox support without restraint chain.

DO NOT replace the chain with an inferior form of restraint.

Care should be taken when using the gearbox support and vertical transmission jack in

conjunction with a vehicle lift to ensure that the vehicle is not lowered whilst the jack is

in position.

DO NOT move the jack, with or without a load, with the gearbox support in the raised

position.

DO NOT use the saddle for any purpose other than for vehicle transmissions.

Before storing ensure gearbox support is clean and free of grease and oil.

APPLICATIONS:

IMPORTANT: READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. NOTE THE SAFE OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS. USE

THIS SADDLE JACK CORRECTLY AND WITH CARE FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS INTENDED. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY CAUSE DAMAGE

AND/OR PERSONAL INJURY AND WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY. RETAIN THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE USE.

To suit Sealey jacks: 300GA, 300TR, 600GA, 600TR, 1000GA, 1250GA and 1250GTA.

( An adaptor, part no ADT3.23 is supplied to fit the support to the 300TR.)

3. ASSEMBLY

p WARNING! Failure to assemble the gearbox support correctly may result in serious damage and/or personal injury.

Unpack the product and check contents against the parts diagram. Should there be any damaged or missing parts contact your

supplier immediately.

Note: Numbers shown in brackets refer to item numbers on the parts diagram.

Note: Items 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 have been pre-assembled.

3.1. Attach brackets (8) to the saddle (14) using bolts (10), washers (6) and nuts (7).

3.2. Attach plates (5) to brackets using bolts (9), washers (6) and nuts (7).

3.3. Attach chain (12) to one plate using bolt (13), washers (3) and nut (11).

3.4. Fit screw (2) to diagonally opposite plate using washer (6) and nut (7).

3.5. Slide hook bolt (1) through screw (2) and fit washer (3) and wing nut (4).

WARNING! DO NOT use gearbox support if any suspect part is found, or if it is believed to have been subjected to abnormal load or

shock. Immediately remove from service and contact your authorised service agent.

WARNING! Always read, understand and implement these safety and operating instructions supplied with the gearbox support and

those supplied with the jack.

4.1. With jack fully down remove existing fixed saddle and fit the ADT3.( An adaptor, part no ADT3.23 is supplied to fit the ADT3 to the 300TR.)

4.2. Adjusting the pitch and tilt of gearbox support will assist you to safely support and transport the transmission. The gearbox support may be tilted

forward, backward and side to side by operating the appropriate handles (22).

WARNING! After adjusting the angle of the gearbox support always make sure that all four adjusting screws are in contact with the underside of

the gearbox support. This will ensure that the gearbox support does not move during use, which would endanger both the transmission and the operator.

4.3. Always position brackets (8) and plates (5) to best support/locate transmission and ensure all screws are retightened. Before moving

jack and transmission ensure that restraint chain is in place and tensioned by wing nut (4).

4.4. Periodically lubricate the gearbox support pivot points and the adjusting screws.
