4.1. When the vice is not in use, the front jaw should be screwed in so that it is just touching the back jaw.

4.2. Keep the vice clean and lubricate all moving parts with oil/grease on a regular basis.

4.3. Before each use check the vice is securely mounted on the work surface and inspect for any visible damage. If any suspect item is

found, remove vice from service and take the necessary action to remedy the problem.

p WARNING! This is a heavy item, care must be taken when lifting or moving it.

p WARNING! Ensure the vice is properly fastened to the work surface.

7 DO NOT hammer any part of this vice except the anvil.

7 DO NOT operate the vice if any parts are missing as this may cause failure and/or

personal injury.

7 DO NOT use the vice for a task it is not designed to perform.

7 DO NOT operate the vice when you are tired, under the influence of alcohol, drugs

or intoxicating medication.

7 DO NOT allow children to operate the vice.

3 When sawing, cutting or drilling in connection with this vice always use appropriate

industrial gloves and eye protection.

3 Take care not to get your fingers trapped between the jaws of the vice at any time.

3 Replace or repair damaged parts. Use an authorised service agent and recommended

parts only. Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.

3 Remove ill fitting clothing. Remove ties, watches, rings and other loose jewellery

and contain long hair.

3 Use in a suitable work area. Keep area clean, tidy and free from unrelated materials.

Ensure there is adequate lighting.

3 Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes.

3 Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the working area.

2. INTRODUCTION & SPECIFICATIONS

2.1. Introduction

2.1.1. A range of bench mounting steel vices suitable for workshop, garage and

machine-shop use. Fixed bases direct-mount onto work bench and a swivel

vice plate adaptor is available as an optional extra. All models in this range

include an anvil.

3. ASSEMBLY

3.1. Without optional swivel vice plate adaptor.

3.1.1. The vice is fully assembled and should be correctly secured to the work surface before use.

3.2. With optional swivel vice plate adaptor.

Note: Numbers in brackets refer to item numbers shown in the Parts List.

3.2.1. Screw the two two bolts (6) into the base plate (8).

3.2.2. Locate the base plate inside the swivel base (7) pass the bolts through the locating holes in the back jaw (5), locate the washer (3) onto

the bolt and secure using the locking nut (2).

3.2.3. Secure the swivel base to the work surface before use.

3.2.4. The vice can be rotated by loosening the locking nuts and rotating the vice.

p WARNING! Ensure the locking nuts are fully tightened before using the vice.
