1.1. GENERAL SAFETY

WARNING! Ensure Health & safety, local authority and general workshop practice requirements are adhered to when using

this equipment.

WARNING! Always refer to the motorcycle manufacturer's service instructions, or a proprietary manual to establish the

current procedure for rear wheel alignment.

Ensure that the motorcycle chain is in good condition.

use the chain alignment tool in a suitable work area. Keep the area clean and tidy and ensure there is adequate lighting.

Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.

Keep fingers clear of the chain and sprocket when using the chain alignment tool.

DO NOT use the chain alignment tool for any purpose other than for which it is designed.

DO NOT use the chain alignment tool if any part of it is damaged or missing.

DO NOT allow untrained persons to use the chain alignment tool.

DO NOT attempt to align a motorcycle chain when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating

medication.

When not in use, clean the chain alignment tool and store in a safe, dry, childproof area.

2. INTRODUCTION

WARNING! Before using the chain alignment tool ensure that you have read and understood the safety Instructions in

section 1.

3.1. Attach the chain alignment tool to the sprocket as shown in fig.1. Ensure the datum face of the sprocket is clean and free of

grit. tighten thumb screw 'B' to clamp the chain alignment tool to the sprocket.

3.2. Insert the alignment rod into the top of the chain alignment tool and clamp into position by tightening thumb screw 'A'.

3.3. observe the position of the alignment rod as shown in fig.2. refering to the motorcycle manufacturer's service instructions, or

a proprietary manual, align the rear wheel so that the chain runs parallel with the alignment rod on the chain alignment tool.

3.4. Ensure that the motorcycle chain is correctly tensioned. fully tighten the rear wheel fixings and engage any locking devices.

3.5. remove the chain alignment tool from the sprocket and check that the rear wheel will rotate freely.
