Before fi rst use
The hair and beard trimmer can be used as a battery-powered or mains-powered
appliance.
Charging the batteries
The battery for the hair and beard trimmer should be charged for at least
90 minutes before fi rst use.
♦ Plug the cable plug of the mains power adapter 9 into the socket 8 on the
underside of the hair and beard trimmer.
♦ Avoid damaging the appliance! Ensure that the appliance is switched off before
charging the battery.
♦ Plug the mains power adapter 9 (wide-range voltage 100–240 V) into a
power socket complying with the appliance specifi cations.
♦ The charging progress is indicated by the charging indicator lamp 7 .

Charging indicator lamp fl ashes red: battery is being charged

Charging indicator lamp lights up red: the battery is discharged

Charging indicator lamp fl ashes green: appliance is connected to the
mains power adapter
9 and charged.

Charging indicator lamp light up green: battery is fully charged
♦ Once the battery is fully charged, you can use the appliance for around
60 minutes without connecting it to the power supply.
