Non-compliance with the following instructions may
cause personal injury or property damage (electric
shock, fire). The following safety and hazard infor-
mation is intended not only to protect your health
and the health of others, but also protect the baby
scales. You should therefore comply with these
safety instructions and pass them on if you give the
article to other people.

Never leave children unsupervised with the
packaging materials as there is a danger of
suffocation.

Please check the baby scales carefully before-
hand every time you use them in order to deter-
mine if there are any signs of wear and tear
and/or damage. Do not use the scales if you
find any wear and tear or damage or if the
baby scales have been used improperly. In
such cases please return the scales to the place
where you bought them before using them
again.

Children or other individuals who have no

experience of or do not know how to use the
baby scales - or are restricted in terms of their
physical, sensory or mental capacities - must
not use the baby scales without supervision or
instruction by an individual who is responsible
for their safety. Children must be supervised in
order that they do not play with the baby scales.

Do not put a wet or damp baby on the baby

scales (e.g. after bathing) and do not use the
baby scales if the weighing surface is damp or
wet. Otherwise the baby might slip from the
weighing surface.

Do not place a weight of more than

20 kg on the baby scales (44 lb,
704 oz). Otherwise the scales might

be damaged.

Do not use the baby scales close to strong

electromagnetic fields (e.g. an induction hob,
mobile telephones), as this may reduce their
accuracy.

Do not store any objects on the baby scales if
they are not being used.

Please remove the battery in the case of mal-
functions or if the scales are broken. Otherwise
there is an increased risk that the battery will
leak.

Protect the baby scales against jolts, damage,
dust, chemicals, strong fluctuations in tempera-
ture and sources of heat (stoves, radiators).

Do not expose the device to:
- extreme temperatures,
- strong vibrations,
- high mechanical loads,
- direct solar radiation,
- moisture.
Failure to observe this advice may result in
damage to the device.

Never open the device housing. This could result

in personal injury or damage to the device.
Always have any repairs carried out at the
service centre or by an electrical equipment
repair specialist.
