Operation

DANGER! Danger from explosive
deflagration. Make sure you use
oil that is fresh, clean and suitable
for a fondue. Old, used or un-
suitable oil may ignite even at low
temperatures. Should the oil catch
fire during the fondue, do not try to
put it out with water under any cir-
cumstances. Smother the fire with
a saucepan lid of appropriate size
or a woollen blanket.

The stainless steel pot 2, splash
guard 1 and fondue forks 11 become
very hot during a fondue. Make sure
you protect your hands, e. g. with oven
gloves, and only grasp the fondue
forks 11 by the handle.

Danger of burns caused by splashes of
hot liquid when dipping food into the pot:
dry food off beforehand and protect
hands and forearms with oven gloves.

To prevent it from overflowing during
heating, the stainless steel pot 2
should not be filled beyond the upper
mark indicating the maximum filling
level 10.

1. Add oil, stock or cheese to the pot

depending on the intended use. The
contents must come between the two
filling level marks 9+10 in the pot.

2. Place the splash guard 1 on the pot.
3. Oil and stock: turn the temperature

controller 6 clockwise to the end stop
to heat the pot and its contents. All of
the red indicator LEDs 8 light up. The
appliance will now heat up.
Cheese: turn the temperature control-
ler 6 to one of the first red indicator
LEDs 8 to melt the cheese carefully,
stirring as it melts. Increase or reduce
the setting depending on the way in
which the cheese you are using melts.

TIP: The temperature controller 6 allows
you to freely select a lower temperature af-
ter initially heating up the pot. This is advis-
able, for example, in order to keep the
temperature of the contents at just below
boiling point.
4. Push the dried pieces of food onto the

fondue forks 11 and place in the oil,
stock or cheese.

5. Oil and stock: take the fondue forks 11

out when the food has cooked as far as
you require.
Cheese: drag the fondue forks 11
through the melted cheese, turning
them as you do so to coat the food in
cheese.

6. At the end of the fondue, switch the

temperature controller 6 to the green
indicator LED 7, unplug the appliance
and wait until all parts have cooled
down before starting cleaning.

6.

Cleaning

DANGER! Remove the plug from
the socket before cleaning the
electric fondue.

Do not immerse the heating unit 4, the
power cable 3 or the power plug in wa-
ter or any other liquid.

Leave all parts to cool down fully be-
fore emptying the pot and cleaning.

The fondue forks 11 are very sharp.

WARNING! Do not use any astringent or
abrasive cleaning agents.

Do not pour liquid fat down the sink:
when it cools, it may block the drains.

Heating unit

Clean the heating unit 4 with a soft,
damp cloth using a mild soap solution.
