Initial use

WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!

Always and only use freshly drawn mains water in the kettle! Do not con-
sume any water that is not certifi ed as potable. If you do, you are taking a
risk with your health!

Before starting the appliance up, make certain that ...

the appliance, plug and power cable are in a serviceable condition
and ...

all packaging materials have been removed from the appliance.

1) Fill the appliance with water up to the MAX marking and let it come to a

full boil once – as described in the next section.

2) After it has boiled, pour this water away.

3) Rinse the kettle out with clear water.

4) Fill the appliance with water once again, up to the MAX marking, and

then bring it to boil. When done, pour this water away also.

The appliance is now ready for use.

RISK - ELECTRICAL SHOCK!

Never place the electrical base 3 close to water – this would be a
potentially fatal risk!

WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!

Always use freshly drawn water. Do not consume any water that has
already stood in the kettle for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water
that has cooled down. Always pour old water away. Microbes could have
formed in it!

1) Lift the kettle off of the base when fi lling it!

2) Press the unlocking button 1 and open the lid.

NOTICE

When fi lling it, hold the kettle upright. Only in this way can you correctly
read the markings on the scale 5.
