► ALWAYS remove the plug before cleaning the appliance. There is a danger
of electric shock!

► Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it! Risk of Burns!
Attention! Appliance Damage!
► Do not use aggressive, abrasive or chemical cleaning agents. These could
damage the surfaces.
■ Clean the housing and the sole plate 9 with a damp cloth. For stubborn
soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth.
Safety switch-off
This iron is equipped with a safety switch-off :
The iron switches off automatically when...
■ ... the iron stands on its soleplate 9 for longer than 30 seconds without
being moved.
■ ... the iron lies on its side for longer than 30 seconds without being moved.
■ ... the iron stands on the appliance base 6 for longer than 8 minutes without
being moved.
6 signal tones sound prior to the automatic switch-off . During the period when the
safety switch-off is active, the control lamp "Power" 5 blinks. The iron is re-activated
once it has been moved.
NOTICE
► Do not use the safety switch-off intentionally to take the iron out of service!
The safety switch-off is for emergencies only, should the instructions for closing
down be forgotten!
