4) Fill the appliance with water once again, up to the MAX mark, and then

bring it to boil. When done, pour this water away also.

The appliance is now ready for use.

Boiling water

RISK - ELECTRIC SHOCK!

NEVER place the electrical base 6 in close proximity to water –Risk of
fatal electric shock!

WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!

Always use fresh drinking water. Do not consume any water that has al-
ready stood in the kettle for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water that
has cooled down. Always pour old water away. It may contain germs!

NOTE

Always ensure that the on/off switch 4 is in the "O" position when the
mains plug is unplugged and the appliance is standing on the base 6.
If not, the appliance could heat up unintentionally as soon as the mains
plug is plugged in again.

1) Remove the kettle 7 to fi ll it!

2) Open the lid by pulling the release 2 upwards.

NOTE

Hold the kettle 7 upright when fi lling it. This is the only way to read the
markings on the scale 5 correctly.

3) Fill the kettle 7...

to at least the MIN mark, so that the appliance does not overheat,

no further than the MAX mark, so that boiling water cannot spill out.

4) First close the lid and then place the kettle 7 on the base 6, such that it

stands securely on the base 6.

5) Now insert the plug into the mains power socket.

6) Move the On/Off switch 4 to position "

". The appliance starts to operate

and the indicator lamp 3 illuminates.

When the water is boiling, the appliance switches itself off automatically. The
On/Off switch 4 reverts automatically to the "O" position, the indicator lamp 3
switches off .
