Auto Focus Area
This setting allows you to select between a wide, multi-zone
focus region and a spot focus region.
• Use Multi for general-purpose picture taking and to focus
on a subject that is not in the center of the image.
• Use Spot if the camera keeps focusing on the wrong
subject in the image.
1. In the Capture Menu (page 61),
select Auto Focus Area.
2. In the Auto Focus Area sub-
menu, use the buttons to
highlight a setting.
3. Press the button to save the
setting and return to the Capture
Menu.
The multi focus region is divided
into five narrow focus zones, as
shown.
• Selecting Multi causes the
camera to search all five zones
for focus, and focus on the
closest object.
• Selecting Spot causes the camera to search a single zone
in the center of the region for focus.
