Error Messages on the Computer

Message

Possible cause

Connection

between the

imaging device

and computer

failed

The camera

might be

connected to a

computer

through a USB

hub.

Try connecting the camera

directly to the computer,

or disconnect other

devices attached to the

USB hub.

The software

cannot retrieve

the Share Menu

information from

your camera

The computer

needs to write

files to the

memory card

during

HP Instant

Share

setup, but

the memory card

is either missing,

full, or locked.

Either install a memory

card, make room on the

memory card, or unlock it

by switching the locking

tab on the card to the

unlocked position.

Computer cannot

find the

connected

camera

The camera is

turned off.

Turn on the camera.

The camera is

not working

correctly.

Try connecting the

camera directly to an

HP Photosmart printer or

an HP printer with a front

panel USB port, and

print an image. This will

verify that the image,

memory card, USB

connection, and the USB

cable are functioning

correctly.

The cable is not

connected

correctly.

Make sure that the cable is

firmly connected to the

computer and camera.
