Fibre Channel I/O Blades 2 Gbit FC Pass-Thru Blade
9.3 2 Gbit Fibre Channel Pass-Thru Blade
The 2 Gbit Fibre Channel pass-thru blade provides 10 ports for the bypass
connection between server blade FC daughter boards and optical transceivers
for serial FC I/O and general-purpose I/O signals. The 2 Gbit FC pass-thru
blade features 2 Gbit/sec Fibre Channel speed.

The PRIMERGY BX600 S3 basic unit can be fitted with one or two FC pass-thru
blades. The slots for these blades are on the back of the system unit (NET 3 and
NET4 in
figure 57 on page 109 ). If Fibre Channel functionality is to be available
for one or more server blades, at least one FC pass-thru blade or FC switch
blade must be installed. The assignment of the Fibre Channel channels is
described in
section “Port Assignment” on page 109 .
