INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING

1.

WARNING! Make sure the Power Switch of the Paper Shredder is in its
“OFF” position, that the batteries are removed, and that the unit is unplugged
from its electrical outlet before performing any inspection, maintenance, or clean-
ing procedures.

2.

BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the Paper Shredder.
Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or
broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect
its safe operation. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem cor-
rected before further use. Do not use damaged equipment.

3.

Before each use make sure the vents on the bottom of the unit are clear of dirt,
paper, or any other debris.

4.

Wipe the unit clean with a dry, lint free cloth.

5.

Periodically replace all 6 “AA” batteries in the battery compartment under the unit
with 6 fresh “AA” batteries of the same type. Unplug the unit before replacing the
batteries. Place the new batteries into the compartment with the poles of the
batteries facing as marked in the compartment.
NiCd batteries are recommended, if non-rechargeable batteries are used, an
AC adapter must never be used; the adapter will attempt to charge the
batteries, possibly leading to the batteries leaking or to other hazardous
conditions.
Dispose of or recycle all used batteries properly.
