User Manual

This digital thermometer provides a quick and accurate reading of an individual's body

temperature. Please read all instructions before using this thermometer.
This thermometer is manufactured according to the system of EN12470-3:2000, ASTM

and complies with the requirements of IEC 60601-1:1990 +A1:1993+A2:1995,

IEC 60601-1-2:2007. The manufacturer is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003 certified.

WARNING: Read instructions thoroughly before using digital thermometer

Do not use thermometer in the ear. Intended use is for oral, rectal, and axillary

(armpit) readings only.
Do not place thermometer near extreme heat - it may explode.

Note: Use of a probe cover may result in a 0.2°F discrepancy from actual temperature.

DIRECTIONS

1. To disinfect thermometer probe, wipe probe with or dip into isopropyl rubbing alcohol to a

maximum of ~ 0.25 inch from tip.
2. Press the On/Off Button next to the LCD. A tone will sound as the screen displays “ ”,

followed by “Lo”. The last recorded temperature will display, then the screen will again

display “Lo”. The thermometer is now in test mode and ready to obtain a temperature

reading.
*Note: Begin taking temperature within 15 seconds after thermometer enters test mode.
3. Position thermometer in desired location (mouth, rectum, or armpit) as directed below.
a) Oral Use: To ensure accuracy, please keep mouth closed for 5 minutes before

testing. Place thermometer under tongue — recommended probe position is

indicated by

shown in Figure 2. Readings are obtained in ~ 60 seconds.

b) Rectal Use: Lubricate silver probe tip with petroleum jelly for easy insertion.

Gently insert probe ~ 1cm (less than 0.5

inch

) into rectum. Readings are

obtained in ~ 60 seconds.
c) Axillary (Armpit) Use: Wipe armpit dry. Place probe in armpit and keep arm pressed

firmly at side. Readings are obtained in ~ 90 seconds.
4. The °F sign flashes throughout the testing process. When flashing stops, usually within

30~60 seconds, an alarm beeps for ~ 10 seconds and the measured reading simultaneously

displays.
5. To prolong battery life, press the On/Off Button to turn the unit off after testing is complete.

If no action is taken, the unit will automatically shut off after ~10 minutes.

*Note: Normally

the alarm beeps are “Bi-Bi-Bi-Bi”. The a

larm will beep more rapidly when

temperature reaches 100

°F

or higher. When this occurs, the beeps will be

Bi-Bi-Bi----- Bi-Bi-Bi------- Bi-Bi-Bi”.

If room temperature is higher than 90

°F

before

testing, the LCD will display the actual room temperature instead of “Lo”.

for a period of six months. If a product is deemed to be under warranty, GF Health Products, Inc. shall provide,

at its option, (1) replacement of any defective part or product or (2) a credit of the original selling price made

to GF Health Products, Inc.'s initial customer. The warranty does not include any labor charges incurred in

replacement part(s) installation or any associated freight or shipping charges to GF Health Products, Inc.
