Brake Release Levers

For your convenience, your Alero is equipped with two brake release levers. The brake release
lever can be located on the rear of each motor. (Fig. 12) These levers allow you to disengage
the drive motors and maneuver the power wheelchair manually.

DO NOT USE YOUR ALERO WHILE THE DRIVE MOTORS ARE
DISENGAGED UNLESS YOU ARE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN
ATTENDANT!

WARNING!

DO NOT DISENGAGE THE DRIVE MOTORS WHEN YOUR
ALERO IS ON AN INCLINE. DOING SO MAY CAUSE THE
POWER WHEELCHAIR TO ROLL ON ITS OWN AND MAY
RESULT IN BODILY INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

1. To ENGAGE the brakes on the motors, turn the brake release lever rearward. (Fig. 12)

2. To DISENGAGE the brakes on the motors, turn the brake release lever outward. (Fig.
