PREPARING THE APPLIANCE
• IMPORTANT! Before using the appliance for the
first time check that the exhaust filter (4) is fitted in
the exhaust hole (refer to Replacing exhaust filter
below).
• Also check that the dust container (9) and the
permanent filter (22+23) are correctly assembled
(refer to Emptying the dust container and cleaning
the permanent filter below).
• Fit the dust container.
o Grip the handle (10) on the dust container, and
place the container in the appliance. Press the
container into position with a click.
o To remove the dust container, press the lock
button (11) on the handle and lift the remove the
container from the appliance.
• Attach the hose (12) to the appliance by inserting it
into the hose connector (14) in the hose port (8) on
the base of the front of the appliance (8) so that the
hose connector locks into place with a click.
o To remove the hose, press the lock button (1)
on the hose connector and pull the hose out of
the appliance.
• Depress the lock button (24) on the telescopic tube
(15) and pull the tube to the required length.
• Attach the handle of the hose (26) to the end of the
tube and attach the floor nozzle (17) to the opposite
end of the tube.
USING THE APPLIANCE
• Pull the cord out of the appliance. The cord must
not be pulled out any further than the red mark. Plug
in and switch on the power.
• Press the On/Off button (7) to switch the appliance
on and off.
• The suction strength can be regulated during use
by using the button for controlling suction strength
(5) situated on top of the appliance. For maximum
suction strength select "MAX" and for minimum
suction strength select "MIN".
• Suction strength can also be regulated by opening
and closing the air vent (25) on the handle.
o When the valve is closed, full suction is
achieved. This is the normal setting.
o When the vent opens, more air is allowed in,
reducing the suction power at the floor nozzle.
This function is for cleaning curtains and other
light items which can get sucked into the nozzle.
• The floor nozzle bristles have two settings which
can be selected using the brush function button
(18).
o When cleaning hard surfaces (wooden flooring,
stone flooring, clinker, linoleum, etc.), the nozzle
brushes should be extended.
o When cleaning carpets and rugs, the brushes
should be retracted into the nozzle.
• The dust container full indicator (6) will normally be
transparent. If it changes to red when the appliance
is in use, or if suction strength is significantly
reduced, the dust container needs changing (refer
to Emptying the dust container and cleaning the
permanent filter below). If the indicator remains red
after the container has been emptied, it may be due
to one of the following reasons:
o The hose or nozzle is clogged.
o The exhaust filter is dirty.
Investigate what is causing the indicator to remain
red and deal with the problem. The appliance must
not be used if the indicator is red. This may cause
irreparable damage to the motor.
• IMPORTANT! The appliance is provided with
thermostatically controlled overheat protection
that automatically shuts off the motor in case of
blockage. If this happens, turn off the appliance
and unplug it. After 0 minutes, the appliance will
have cooled off and will be ready to use when you
have removed the blockage.
Tips
• The small crevice- and brush nozzles (16) can be
used with and without brushes, as they can be
easily extended or withdrawn.
• Should you need to take a break during vacuuming,
you can place the floor nozzle in the storage bracket
at the rear of the appliance ().
• You can lift and carry the appliance using the
carrying handle (1). Never pull or lift the appliance
by the cord.
FILTERS AND DUST CONTAINER
This appliance is not equipped with a dust bag. The
dust/dirt is sucked up into the transparent dust holder
instead. Once the dust is in this container, it whirls
around so that it does not block suction. The air sucked
in is cleaned by means of a washable permanent filter
(HEPA filter) in the dust container and an exhaust filter.
We recommend that you clean the filters at least twice a
year or as required. We recommend replacing the filters
after 6 to 12 months’ use, when they become soiled, or
if the vacuum cleaner’s suction force is reduced.
IMPORTANT! The appliance must not be used if the
filters and the dust container are not in place.
IMPORTANT! Turn off the appliance and unplug it before
changing the filters or emptying the dust container.
Replacing exhaust filter
• Remove the exhaust filter
by grasping the handle and
flipping it down and out.
• Remove the filter pad from
the holder and replace or
clean the pad as described
in Cleaning below.
• Replace the filter pad in the
holder.
• Fit the filter over the exhaust hole so that the small
pins on the holder engage the lower edge of the
exhaust hole. Press the filter into place from above.
You will hear a ’click’ when it locks.
