INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on the purchase of the new X-LPS V8 phono
preamp. Great attention has been paid to internal layout,
isolating each circuit section to prevent possible interaction.
The unit features our highly refined low noise input amplifier
circuit coupled with a low output impedance close tolerance
RIAA stage to improve record delivery and dynamics. Two
types of cartridge are catered for, moving magnet and moving
coil, to allow full choice in selecting preferred cartridge type
for the system.
The resultant performance achieved by this unit is among the
best in the world. It has excellent signal to noise ratio, low
distortion, wide bandwidth, huge dynamic range,
extraordinary resolution and fine detail.

CLEANING
Before cleaning the unit, switch off power at the mains switch
and remove the mains plug from the wall socket.
Clean the cabinet and remote control unit using a moist cloth.
Using solvents, white spirit or thinners is not advised, as they
could damage the surface finish.

INSTALLATION
Position the X-LPS V8 on a stable, horizontal surface where
there is no risk of it being knocked, or subjected to vibration
such as from loudspeakers.
The X-LPS V8 must be protected from humidity - if the unit
is moved from a cold place to a warm room, leave the unit for
an hour or so to allow sufficient time for the moisture to
evaporate.

POWER CONNECTIONS
The X-LPS V8 requires a free mains socket for its power
supply. The power supply then connects using its flying lead
to the DIN 24V AC socket at the back of the unit. We advise
that you use only the supplied X-series adaptor for this unit,
or a suitable Musical Fidelity power supply.

AUDIO CONNECTIONS
Inputs: Connect turntable cartridge input to RCA MM or MC
inputs as required.
(see p.7 For more information). Use good quality fully
connected (signal and ground) coaxial phono cables for all
signal connections.

Grounding post: Connect turntable ground lead (if present)
to green earthing post. The post accepts bare wire, spade
connectors or 4mm banana plugs.

NB grounding apparatus in a system can sometimes

aggravate rather than alleviate hum; some experimentation
may be necessary to obtain ultimate noise levels. Remember
especially with MC input, the X-LPS V8 is an extremely
sensitive amplifier!

Outputs
: Connect output sockets to a LINE level input e.g.
AUX input on the amplifier/preamplifier.
The X-LPS V8 outputs provide a highly amplified LINE level
signal and MUST NOT be connected to a PHONO input
