iRobot Roomba Professional Series

Cleaning Modes

Roomba has four cleaning modes. Roomba will change its cleaning
method based on the cleaning mode you select.

Clean Mode

Roomba automatically calculates the room size and adjusts its cleaning
time appropriately.

Spot Mode

Roomba will spiral approximately three feet in diameter and then spiral
back to where it started, intensely cleaning a localized area.

Max Mode

For effective cleaning in extra large areas. Use Max Mode for larger
rooms, or areas that need to be cleaned more thoroughly. In Max Mode
Roomba will clean in a single room for as long as the battery will allow.

Scheduled Cleaning Mode

When a future cleaning time is programmed, Roomba enters Scheduled
Cleaning Mode. When scheduled to clean, Roomba will occasionally
flash its next cleaning time to remind you of its schedule. At the specified
time, Roomba leaves its Home Base, cleans, and then returns to the
Home Base to recharge when it’s done.

TIP: Roomba takes approximately 25 minutes to clean an average room and

will pass over the same area of the floor multiple times to ensure total

floor coverage. Roomba automatically calculates the room size and

adjusts its cleaning time appropriately.

TIP: The first time Roomba runs in Max Mode it may run until the end of the

battery charge. Roomba does this intentionally to learn the capacity

life of the battery. Once this learning is complete, Roomba will be able

to make it’s way back to the home base before the battery dies the next

time it runs in Max Mode.
