NOTE:

The Iomega CopyDisk tool cannot copy any files that are open or in use at the

time the copy is made.

If you are using a Macintosh

®

or do not want to use CopyDisk, you can duplicate a Zip

®

disk by following these steps:

1.Copy the contents of your Zip

®

disk to a folder on your computer’s hard drive.

2.Eject your Zip

®

disk.

3.Insert a new Zip

®

disk.

4.Copy your files from the folder on your hard drive onto the new Zip

®

disk.

Formatting Zip

®

Disks

Your FotoShow

Image Center requires PC-formatted Zip

®

disks; however, it is not capable

of formatting a disk unless it is attached to a computer. See the Zip Drive Manual
included on your FotoShow Zip disk for more information on attaching your FotoShow
Image Center to a computer. Zip disks are available preformatted. You can format your
Zip disks to quickly erase all of the files on the disk or to repair a disk that has
developed bad sectors.

CAUTION!

Formatting a disk erases all data on the disk. Do not format any disk that

contains information you want to keep!

Formatting Instructions for Mac

®

OS Users:

NOTE:

You can use any Zip

®

250 drive that is connected to a computer to format your

Zip disk. If your computer does not already have a Zip drive, follow the instructions on
the the purple side of the FotoShow

Digital Image Center QuickStart Guide to use your

FotoShow Image Center with your computer.

1.Follow the instructions on the purple side of the QuickStart Guide to connect your

FotoShow

Image Center to your computer.

2.Insert the disk you want to format into your Zip

®

drive.

3.Open the IomegaWare folder on your Mac

®

hard disk, then open the Tools folder

and double click the Tools icon.

4.In the main Tools window, click on the icon for the disk you want to erase.
5.Select the Erase Disk tool.
6.Select DOS under Format For.
7.Click on the button for the type of format you would like to perform.

Use Short Format if you want to quickly erase all data on a disk so you can
reuse it.

Use Long Format if you are formatting a disk where you have forgotten the
password, or if you need to repair a disk that has developed read/write errors
due to bad sectors.

CAUTION!

Your FotoShow

Image Center can only read PC-formatted Zip

®

disks when it

is connected to your TV. Zip disks with formats other than PC (i.e., Mac

®

or Linux) will be
