ROUBLESHOOTING

Surface burner fails to light.

• Check to be sure plug is securely inserted into receptacle.
• Check or re-set circuit breaker. Check or replace fuse.
• Check power supply.
• Check to be sure burner is correctly rated for your kind of gas.
• Check to be sure burner ports or ignition ports are not clogged.
• Check to be sure ignitor is dry and clicking. Burner will not light if ignitor is damaged,

soiled or wet. If ignitor doesn’t click, turn control knob OFF.

• Check to be sure burner cap is correctly seated on the burner base.

Surface burner flame lifts

• Check to be sure a pan is sitting on the grate above.

3. Brown streaks and specks.

• Remove spills promptly. Never wipe with a soiled cloth or sponge. Make sure

cooktop and pan bottom are clean.

4. Areas with a metallic sheen.

• Mineral deposits from water and food. Use recommended cleaning agents.

See page 8.

5. Pitting or flaking.

• Remove sugary boilovers promptly. See page 8.

Ventilation system is not

• Check on cross ventilation in room or make up air.
