By changing the remote control signals from preset ones to
the other manufacturers’, you can use the remote control
supplied for this system to operate other manufacturers’
VCRs.
• You can also operate other manufacturers’ TVs using the

remote control supplied with this system. (See page 16.)

• When operating other manufacturers’ VCR, aim the remote

control directly at the remote control sensor on the VCR.
Refer also to the instruction manuals supplied with the
VCR.

7 Setting the transmittable signal for your

VCR

• You can operate a JVC VCR without setting the remote

control signal.

1 Set the remote control mode selector to

“DVD.”

2 Press and hold VCR

.

Keep it pressed up to step 5.

3 Press VCR CONTROL.

4 Press the number buttons (1–9, 0) to enter

a manufacturer’s code (2 digit).

See the list below to find the code.
Ex.: For a Siemens VCR, press 0, then 7.

For a Panasonic VCR, press 2, then 1.

5 Release VCR

6 Try to operate your VCR by pressing

VCR

When your VCR turns on or off, you have entered the
correct code.
If more than one cord is listed for your brand of VCR, try
each one until you enter the correct one.

After setting transmittable signals, you can use the
following buttons for the VCR operations.

VCR

:Turns the VCR on and off.

After pressing VCR CONTROL:

PLAY

:Starts playback.

STOP

:Stops operation.

PAUSE

:Pauses playback.

:Fast forwards a video tape.

:Rewinds a video tape.

÷ REC

:Starts recording by pressing with PLAY.

Pauses recording by pressing with PAUSE.

CHANNEL +/–:Changes the TV channels on the VCR.

Maintenance

Set the remote
control mode
selector to “DVD.”
