GOOD FOR YOU.

GOOD FOR THE EARTH.

Our commitment to fi nding innovative ways of preserving the environment stems

from more than just using less fuel—it’s about using less, period. It’s about leaving

as small a footprint as possible—respecting the Earth, respecting the future, and

respecting the consumer. Resulting in a company that delivers real-world benefi ts

that everyone can enjoy.

Our dedication to ease the burden on the environment at every stage begins from the time that a

vehicle is conceptualized to when it’s fully integrated into your life. We’ve received ISO 14001 certifi cation

for recycling and waste reduction in every stage of manufacturing, marketing and sales. And we offer

a full array of vehicles that meet PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) classifi cation.

1

Some of our most

popular models have received the EPA’s prestigious and stringent SmartWay certifi cation, which

means they emit lower amounts of pollutants that cause smog, spew less of the carbon dioxide

that causes global warming, and have impressive fuel economy compared to other vehicles in

their class.

2

So that you can feel good about owning a Subaru, even when you’re not driving it.

1

For 2008 Outback 2.5i, Legacy 2.5i and Forester 2.5X models certified as Partial Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV) that
are sold, registered and operated in California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island or Vermont
all emission parts are covered for 15 years/150,000 miles, whichever comes first. For complete warranty and program
information, including coverage and disclosures see your Subaru dealer or log on to www.subaru.com.

2

For select Outback, Legacy and Forester models, the SmartWay mark is based-on the vehicle’s officially certified exhaust
emissions and greenhouse gas scores. Visit www.epa.gov/greenvehicles for more information.

NATURE HABITAT

Humans aren’t the only species that are Subaru

fans. Because in 2003, our Indiana plant became

the fi rst in America to be designated a wildlife

habitat, with indigenous animals such as deer,

blue herons and beavers living in peaceful coexis-

tence with Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA).

ZERO LANDFILL STATUS

The average American produces more waste in

a week than we do in an entire year. In 2004, the

Subaru manufacturing plant in Indiana became

the FIRST automotive plant in America to achieve

ZERO LANDFILL status, with a 99% recycle rate.

The other 1%? Turned into electricity.
