Seating position should be 8'–12' from the front speakers. Ideally, the tweeter and listeners’ ears should
be 38"–42" from the floor, though the excellent off-axis dispersion of the Sonance Silhouette speakers
provides superb reproduction even when optimal placement is impossible.

When employed as surround speakers, the Sonance Silhouette speakers should be in the side walls, in
line with the listeners’ ears and with the tweeters 60"–72" from the floor (see Figure 3 below). If this is
not possible, the surround speakers may be installed in the back walls of the room at the same width
as the left and right front speakers. The tweeters should also be 60"–72" from the floor. Due to their
substantial weight, it is not recommended that any of the Sonance Silhouette series speakers be
employed in ceiling installations.
