6.3. Using Multiple SAFE Drives on the Same Computer

If multiple safe drives are plugged in, this dialog appears, asking which drive you want to administer.

6.4. Disconnecting and Locking Your Drive

To lock your LaCie SAFE drive once you are finished using it, first unmount it. Then disconnect the drive by disconnecting the

cable. Your drive, and its data, are now inaccessible to unauthorized users.

For Windows Users:

1. From the System Tray (located in the lower right-hand side of your screen), click the Eject icon (a small green arrow over a

hardware image).

2. A message will appear, detailing the devices that the Eject icon controls, i.e. “Safely remove...”. Click on this prompt.

3. You will be then given this message: “Safe to Remove Hardware” (or similar). It is now safe to disconnect the device.

For Mac Users:

You must unmount the hard drive system before disconnecting it or powering it down. Simply drag the hard

drive icon to the Trash. The drive can now be disconnected.
