Appendix C:
Alternative To Production
Lot Testing
As an alternative to certification by test of every
production lot made, D1.8 allows an alternative
means for a manufacturer to demonstrate that
products are manufactured consistently and capable
of achieving the required weld metal mechanical
properties. This includes certification of three lots
for each product, as described in Appendix A, in
addition to the certification of a manufacturer’s
production processes to recognized quality
management standards.
