3.2. FTP Access to Shares
The FTP protocol is used to transfer files from one computer to an-
other through a network, such as over the internet. This protocol
allows you to exchange files with your friends or relatives securely,
as only people to whom you have provided the user name and pass-
word will have access. FTP access also provides you a way to access
your files remotely.
In order to make your Big Disk Network accessible via the internet,
configure your router to allow remote connections using FTP. This
process varies depending on the router.
For the Big Disk Network to be accessible through the internet, port
21 needs to be forwarded to the Big Disk Network.
TECHNICAL NOTE:
By default, FTP is enabled and therefore Share
is fully accessible via FTP. To turn FTP service off, refer to section
