Remove the four screws from the back console plate using a Phillips-
head screwdriver. Set the back console plate and screws aside.

Important: Attach one handrail at a time.

Insert a handrail into the handrail clamp. As you do so, ask your
assistant to thread the cable through the handrail clamp and out the
exit hole.

Important: Do not stretch, crimp, or damage the cable. Cables
damaged by improper installation will not be covered by the Precor
Limited Warranty.

Use one hand to apply pressure on the handrail portion being
inserted into the clamp as you lift and lower the base of the handrail
with the other hand. This rotating motion helps move the handrail into
the clamp.

Connect the handrail cable to the heart rate display cable. Before
making the connection, feed the cable behind the handrail. Refer to
the illustration. If the cable does not follow this route, it can become
crimped or damaged when you replace the back console plate.

S

ecure the handrail to the lower handrail mount. Attach the inner

handrail cap (J) onto the lower handrail, and then thread one large
bolt (removed in step 2) through the handrail and handrail mount.
Finger tighten.

Important: Repeat steps 11, 12, and 13 for the opposite handrail.
Before you wrench tighten the fasteners, look in the upper handrail
clamp exit hole. A ¼-inch to ½-inch gap (6mm to 12mm) needs to
be retained between the ends of the handrails. Adjust the handrails
before continuing with the next steps.

Wrench tighten the two handrail bolts using the 1

⁵⁄₁₆-inch box-end

wrench (K).

Tighten the two handrail clamp fasteners using a hex key, and
reattach the back console plate using the four screws removed in
step 10.
