Enjoying TV with this unit’s speakers
You can enjoy TV broadcasts with this unit’s speakers.
Preparation
Confirm the audio connection to the OPTICAL IN or AUX terminal on the main unit (
> 7).
1 Press [ N, O SELECT] several times to select “D-IN” (DIGITAL IN) or
“AUX”.
Main unit: Press [SELECTOR].
≥D-IN (DIGITAL IN): When connecting using OPTICAL IN terminal.
≥AUX:
When connecting using AUX terminal.
≥When the system is connected to an HDAVI Control 2 or HDAVI Control 3-compatible TV via
an HDMI cable, TV broadcast audio is output through the system speakers if the TV input is
switched to TV tuner mode. See “Setting the TV audio for VIERA Link “HDAVI Control”” on
page 28 for setting method.
≥Reduce the volume on the TV to its minimum, and then adjust the volume of the main unit.
Enjoying TV sound from all speakers
You can enhance stereo sources with surround sound effect.
To enjoy TV in surround sound with Dolby Pro Logic II/Dolby Pro Logic IIx
Press [ ÎPLIIx].
To enjoy TV in surround sound with DTS NEO:6
Press [NEO:6].

Making settings for digital audio input
Select to suit the type of audio from the OPTICAL IN terminal on the main unit.
1 Press [ N, O SELECT] several times to select “D-IN” (DIGITAL IN).
Main unit: Press [SELECTOR].
2 Press [SETUP].
3 Press [
3, 4] to select “DUAL”, “DRC” or “PCM FIX” and press
[OK].
4 While the selected mode is displayed
Press [ 3, 4] to make the setting.
DUAL mode (Only works with Dolby Dual Mono)
MAIN
SAP
M+S (MAIN+SAP) (stereo audio)
“SAP” = Secondary Audio Program
≥If this is set to “MAIN” or to “SAP”, the PCM FIX modes (> below) will automatically be
set to “OFF”.
DRC (Dynamic Range Compression)
ON: Adjust for clarity even when the volume is low by compressing the range of
the lowest sound level and the highest sound level. Convenient for late
night viewing. (Only works with Dolby Digital)
OFF
PCM FIX modes
ON: Select when receiving only PCM signals.
OFF: Select when receiving Dolby Digital and PCM signals.
≥If this is set to “ON”, the DUAL mode (> above) will automatically be set to “M+S”.
≥Audio that is input through the OPTICAL IN terminal cannot be output through the HDMI
terminal.
