Dial Your National Emergency Number

You can dial 911 anytime. Just press power

to wake up the screen, and enter the

emergency number. If the phone is turned off, you don't have to turn it on. You don't have to
press the orange

key to enter numbers.

If you lock your phone with Secure Unlock and select a simple PIN (see “Set Options for
Unlocking the Screen” on page 188)
, dial the emergency number by entering the number in
the password field and tapping

.

If you lock your phone and select a full password, however, you must press the orange

key

twice before entering the emergency number in the password field.

Dial From a Web Page or Message

Your phone recognizes most phone numbers that appear in Web pages or in messages
(email, text, or multimedia).

If a phone number appears as an underlined link, tap the number. (This displays the
dial pad with the number already entered.)

Tap

to

dial.

Did You Know?

If your company uses Microsoft Exchange Server with a Global Address List
(GAL), entering the contact search information returns matching results
from the GAL as well.
