Press SETUP in the stop mode.

Turn ON the TV and set to the video input mode.
Press VCR/DVD to select the DVD mode. (The DVD indicator will light.)

Preparation:

• If you input a wrong number, press
CANCEL.
• Be sure to remember this number!

Some discs are specified not suitable for
children. Such discs can be prevented
from play back with the unit.

password (e.g.: 1234).

To make SETUP screen disappear, press
SETUP.

Select “Password

” (step 2) and

press Number keys to input your 4-digit
password.
Then press ENTER.

Cancel the password so as to set the Parental level freely again.

NOTES:

If each setup (pages 46~54) has been
completed, the unit can always be
worked under the same conditions
(especially with DVD discs).
Each setup will be retained in the
memory if you turn the power off.
Depending on the discs, the unit can-
not limit playback.
Some discs may not be encoded with
specific rating level information though
its disc jacket says “adult”. For those
discs, the age restriction will not work.
Do not forget the password. If you for-
get the password, in the No Disc DVD
mode, press and hold STOP on the unit,
and simultaneously press and hold 7 on
the remote control for more than 3 sec-
onds. “PASSWORD CLEAR” appears
on the screen. The password has been
cleared.
The above procedure will clear the pass-
word only.

Level Off:

The parental control setting does not function.
(Factory preset)

Level 1:

DVDs expressly for children can be played back.
(DVDs for adults/general audiences are prohibited.)

Level 2 to 7:

DVDs for general audiences/children can be played back.
(DVDs for adults are prohibited.)

Level 8:

NO LIMIT: All DVDs can be played back.

Select from the level 1 to level 8. The limitation will be more severe as
the level number is lower.

If the input password was right,
will appear.
You can move to “Parental 1”(e.g.) to input
the desired level or to cancel parental control.
