HDMI Audio

This setting is only required if you are using the DVD system’s

HDMI OUT socket to connect your TV or other display device
(see ‘Option 5: Connecting to a HDMI-compatible TV’).

Note: It may take a while for the DVD system and the input device to

communicate and initialise.

{ Off }

– Select this if the playback audio format is not

supported by HDMI connection (e.g.
projector, SACD). It will turn off the HDMI
audio output.

{ PCM }

– Select this to downmix the audio signals to

linear-PCM (2-channel).

{ All }

– Select this to enjoy the multi-channel audio

output through the HDMI connection.

Note: It is not possible to listen to SACDs or copy-controlled DVD-
Audio CPPM (Content Protection for Playable Media) sources using the
HDMI connection.

Night Mode

This mode optimises playback of sound at low volume. High

volume outputs will be softened and low volume outputs will be
enhanced to an audible level. This feature is only applicable for
DVD video discs with Dolby Digital mode.

{ On }

– Turns on night mode.

{ Off }

– Turns off night mode feature. Selects this to

enjoy the surround sound with its full
dynamic range.

Lip Sync

This feature allows you to adjust the audio delay times if the

video playback is slower than the audio output streams, hence
resulting in lip-sync.

Access the lip sync setup menu. Use W X keys to set the delay

times (0 ~ 200 ms) for the audio output.
