Configuring for Use with a Modem
VSX systems that have a serial port can be configured to receive closed
captions from a captioning service via modem.
To configure the system to work with a modem:
1. Go to System > Admin Settings > General Settings > Serial Port.
2. Configure these settings:
3. Configure the modem for 8 bits, no parity.
You may also need to configure the modem to ignore DTR and to answer
automatically.
Setting Description
Baud Rate Set the baud rate to the same value as the modem.
RS-232 Mode Select Closed Caption.
