High Definition programs

As TV programs are starting to be broadcasted in High

Definition standard, only a HD receiver is capable of

receiving these signals. Compared to the standard

definition programs, which are at 720x576 pixels, High

Definition programs have a picture quality up to

1920x1080 pixels, bringing a much sharper and more

vibrant image onto the screen.

MPEG4 HD TV

Enjoy the exceptional picture quality of a true High

Definition TV signal brought to your HD TV set. HD ready

is a protected label that offers picture quality beyond that

of progressive scan. It conforms to strict standards laid

out by EICTA to offer a HD screen that displays the

benefits of resolution and picture quality of a High

Definition TV signal. It has a universal connection for both

analog YPbPr and uncompressed Digital connection of

DVI or HDMI, supporting HDCP. It can generate 720p,

and/or 1080i signals at 50 and 60Hz.

HDMI output

HDMI is a direct digital connection that can carry digital

HD video as well as digital multichannel audio. By

eliminating the conversion to analog signals it delivers

perfect picture and sound quality, completely free from

noise. HDMI is fully backward-compatible with DVI.

Video-on Demand (VOD)

You can now view your TV programs or movies at your

most convenient time, instead of sticking to the usual

broadcast time from the local operators. Video-on-

Demand (VOD) allows you to select and watch video

content over a network as part of an interactive television

system. You no longer need to sit through a long program

at one go, as you can also pause, forward, rewind, or

replay the program. You can either stream and view the

content in real time, or download the program onto a

storage drive on the set-top box before starting your

viewing.

Dolby Digital surround

Because Dolby Digital, the world's leading digital multi-

channel audio standards, make use of the way the

human ear naturally processes sound, you experience

superb quality surround sound audio with realistic spatial

cues.

Access to Pay TV services

More and more top quality content are being

broadcasted these days, but the only way to access these

premium channels is to subscribe to the services from the

local Pay-TV operators. Insert the operator's smart card

into the set top box, and it will descramble the encrypted

signals that are being broadcasted by the Pay-TV

operators.

Electronic Program Guide 8 day

You want to know what are the programs available today

and for the next 8 days, so that you can avoid missing

your favorite shows by planning your evenings or making

pre-scheduled recordings. The data is broadcasted by the

program broadcaster, and when this data is available,

this product compiles the information and list them in the

menu for your easy use reference. Simply enter the menu,

or press the EPG button on the remote control to access

the program guide. The EPG will provide you with an

overview, listing the program information for the

upcoming 8 days.
