INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (if so equipped)
The Intelligent Key System allows you to lock or unlock your
vehicle, open your trunk and start the engine.
NOTE: It is important to make sure the Intelligent Key is with
you (that is, in your pocket or purse).
Ⅲ The operating range of the door and trunk lock/unlock
function is approximately 0.8 m (31 in).
Ⅲ Locking the vehicle - Push any door handle Request
Switch once.
Ⅲ Unlocking the vehicle - Push any door handle Request
Switch once. The corresponding door will unlock.
Push the door handle Request Switch again within
30 seconds; all other doors, including the liftgate and
liftgate glass, will unlock.
It is also possible to change the default settings of the Intelligent Key unlock/lock by using the
Comfort & Convenience mode under Settings in the control panel.
STARTING THE ENGINE
Ⅲ Push the ignition knob in.
Ⅲ Confirm KEY DETECTED appears in the Vehicle Information
Display.
Ⅲ Turn the ignition knob to start the engine.
TURNING THE ENGINE OFF
Ⅲ Shift the transmission into P (Park).
Ⅲ Turn the ignition knob to the LOCK position.
Ⅲ An audible warning chime will sound when exiting the vehicle if the ignition knob is not
completely turned to the OFF position.
VEHICLE SPEED SENSING DOOR LOCK MECHANISM
Ⅲ All doors will be locked automatically when the vehicle speed reaches 15 MPH
(24 km/h).
Ⅲ All doors will be unlocked automatically when the ignition is turned to the OFF position.
Ⅲ The lock and unlock features of the vehicle speed sensing door lock mechanism can be
activated and deactivated independently of one another.
Ⅲ To activate or deactivate these features of the vehicle speed sensing door lock
mechanism, perform the following procedure:
1. Close all doors.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position.
3. Within 20 seconds, push and hold the power door lock switch for more than
5 seconds to activate or deactivate the vehicle speed sensing door lock feature.
