Most repeaters have built-in timers that limit
single transmissions to 3 minutes or less.
You can set the transceiver to stop
transmitting if you exceed a set time limit with

NOAA weather broadcast (usually within a
40-mile radius), then sound an alarm if any
emergency code was transmitted along with
the broadcast. People who live outside an
affected area are often alerted even when
