CLEANING

Always turn off your trimmer before you clan or
perform any maintenance on it.

Use a small brush to clean off the outside of the
unit. Do not use strong detergents on plastic
housing or handle. They can be damaged by
household cleaners that contain aromatic oils such
as pine and lemon, and by solvents such as
kerosene. Wipe off any moisture with a soft cloth.

If the unit will be stored for an extended period of
time, use the following storage procedure.

1. Drain all fuel from the fuel tank into a container.

Do not use fuel that has been stored for more
than 60 days

accordance to Federal, State and Local
regulations.

2. Start the engine and allow it to run until it stalls.

This ensures that all fuel has been drained from
the carburetor.

3. Allow the engine to cool. Change the oil (see

page15). Remove the spark plug and put
approximately 0.1oz (3ml) of any high quality
motor oil or 4-cycle oil into the cylinder.

4. Pull the starter rope slowly to the position felt

resistance by compression.

5. Reinstall the spark plug.
6. Thoroughly clean the unit inspect for any loose

or damaged parts. Repair or replace damaged
parts and tighten loose screws, nuts or bolts.
