Mount Your Weather Radio

To mount it on the wall, you need two screws (not
supplied) with heads that fit into the keyhole slots on
the bottom of the weather radio.



Use a pencil to mark the screw locations 3

(94 mm) apart on the wall.



Drill a hole at each marked location. Thread a
screw into each hole, making sure each screw’s
head extends about ¼ in (6.5 mm) from the wall.



Align the keyhole slots on the bottom of the
weather radio with the screw heads, and slide the
radio down to secure it.



Extend the antenna.

Power Your Weather Radio

Use the supplied 6V, 300mA AC adapter for power
or an AC/DC adapter (not included) to connect in
your vehicle. You can also install four AA batteries
(not supplied) in case AC power fails or is temporarily
disconnected.

AC Power Connection



Insert the adapter’s barrel plug into the weather
radio’s DC 6V jack.



Plug the other end of the adapter into a standard
AC outlet.



Route the adapter’s cord through the strain relief
on the radio.

Install Batteries



Slide off the battery
compartment cover to
remove it.



Place four AA batteries
in the compartment
as indicated by the
polarity symbols (+
and –) marked inside.



Replace the cover.

The battery icon (

j

) shows battery power. When all

the segments are lit, the batteries have full power. The
number of lit segments decreases as battery power
decreases.

Listen to a Weather Channel

When you turn on the weather radio the first time, all
LCD segments light for a few seconds, and automatic
channel search begins. When an active channel is
found,

+

appears. If no channels are detected,

flashes.



Press WEATHER/SNOOZE to listen to the weather
broadcast.



Press ) or ( to adjust the broadcast volume to
the desired level. VOL and the volume level (1 – 8)
appear.



Press WEATHER/SNOOZE to turn off the
broadcast.



Press ) or ( to adjust the weather alert volume
to the desired level. VOL and the volume level (1 – 8)
appear.

Function Setup

Function setup allows you to select a broadcast
channel, and set the alarm and clock time. You can also
enable or disable the signal loss reminder so that an
alert sounds when the radio signal is lost.

Set Channel



Hold down SET until you hear a beep. CH 1-7
(current channel number) flashes.



Press SET to enable channel selection. NOAA
appears.



Press ) or ( to manually change the channel and
turn on broadcast audio. Hold down ) or ( to
automatically search for the strongest channel.



Press SET to confirm the selected channel number.
The alarm time flashes.



Hold down SET to return to the normal display. Or,
press SET to proceed and set the alarm time (see
next section).

Set the Alarm Time



Hold down SET until you hear a beep. CH 1-7
(current channel number) flashes.



Press ) once. The current alarm time flashes.



Press SET. The alarm hour digits flash.



Press or hold down ) or ( to set the alarm hour.



Press SET to confirm. The alarm minute digits flash.



Press or hold down ) or ( to set the alarm
minutes.



Press SET to confirm. The clock time flashes.



Hold down SET to return to the normal display or,
press SET to set the clock time (proceed to step 4
in the next section).

Set the Clock Time



Hold down SET until you hear a beep. CH 1-7
(current channel number) flashes.



Press ) twice. The current clock time flashes.



Press SET. The clock hour digits flash.



Press or hold down ) or ( to set the hour.



Press SET to confirm. The minute digits flash.



Press or hold down ) or ( to set the clock
minutes.



Press SET to confirm. % and the current signal loss
reminder setting (On or OFF) appear.



Hold down SET to return to the normal display.
Or, press SET to enable or disable the signal loss
reminder (proceed to step 4 in the next section).

Enable/Disable the Signal Loss Reminder



Hold down SET until you hear a beep. CH 1-7
(current channel number) flashes.



Press ) three times. The current setting (On or OFF)
and % appear.



Press SET. % flashes.



Press ) or ( to toggle between On and OFF.



Press SET to confirm. CH and the current channel
number flash.



Hold down SET to return to the normal display, or
press SET once to return to channel setting mode.

Enable/Disable the Alarm



Slide ALARM to ON or SNOOZE to enable the
alarm.

The alarm sounds at the preset alarm time,
becoming progressively louder the longer it is on.



To snooze, press WEATHER/SNOOZE. The alarm
stops for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the alarm
sounds again until you slide ALARM to OFF to turn
it off.

PM appears to indicate PM hours in alarm and
clock setting modes and disappears to indicate AM
hours.

The signal loss reminder beep does not sound
while listening to a NWS broadcast.

The backlight is always on when operating with
AC power. When operating on battery power, the
backlight turns on only when you press a button.

The signal strength indicator (

+

) shows the power

of the received signal. If the signal is lost and the
signal loss reminder is enabled, the radio emits a
short beep at 30 seconds, 1 minute, 1.5 minutes,
and so on up to 5 minute intervals. It then sounds
every five minutes until you press any key, or until a
signal is received. If you press a key to silence the
reminder, the reminder beeps will be terminated.
If a strong enough signal is detected for more than
10 minutes and lost again, the reminder beep will
start again at 30 seconds.

ALERT ON/OFF SWITCH

The weather radio responds to National Weather
Service (NOAA) alert broadcasts in two ways:

ON

When ALERT is set to ON and an alert
broadcast is received, an alert sounds for five
minutes. To stop the alert and listen to the
broadcast, press WEATHER/ SNOOZE. Press
WEATHER/SNOOZE again to turn off the
weather broadcast.

OFF

When ALERT is set to OFF and an alert
broadcast is received, an alert sounds for 10
seconds. The radio automatically switches to
the weather broadcast for five minutes. Press
WEATHER/SNOOZE to switch from the alert
tone to the broadcast before the radio switches
automatically, or to stop the broadcast before 5
minutes.
