ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Before Assembly

NOTE: Carefully inspect all cartons for shipping damage
before unpacking. If damage is found, contact your
shipper or Tanita Corporation immediately. Claims must
be filed with the shipper as soon as possible after receipt
of the damaged package.

One carton containing: Scale folded in transport
position and 2 parts boxes

One parts box containing: AC adapter and storage
bracket, C-clamp, four (4) threaded feet, four (4) locknuts,
and sheet of adhesive labels.

Another small box containing: The electronic
control panel box.

IMPORTANT: After assembling the scale, charge the
battery in the control panel box using the procedure
under “Charging the Battery” on page 3. This will restore
any power lost during storage and shipment.

Tools Needed: Adjustable wrench or 5/8" socket or
open-end wrench.

Assembling the Wheelchair Scale

1. With the scale still in the carton, place the carton on

the floor with the wheels facing the floor.

2. Carefully slide the scale out of the carton so that the

scale is resting on its wheels. In this position the scale
is in its TRANSPORT position and can be wheeled
from one location to another.

3. Install the four (4) leveling feet into the threaded holes

located in each corner of the platform underside. Turn
each foot into the threaded hole until 1/4" to 3/8" is
showing. (Fig. 1)

4. On each side bracket at the base of the handlebar

is a silver locking pin with silver pull ring. This locking
pin is used to lock the scale into either its present
TRANSPORT position (Fig. 1), or in the unfolded
WEIGHING position (Fig. 3); the pin uses the second
set of holes in the side bracket.

5. Lay the platform down on its feet (Fig. 2). Pull each

locking pin and swing the handlebar into the upright
WEIGHING position. Lock the handlebar by inserting
the pin into the second (bottom) set of holes.
