NOTE

If you press the STOP key before pressing the PLAY

key, the program data is erased.
If the total playback time of the programmed tracks

exceeds 150 minutes 00 seconds, "---m--s" is shown.

Confirming the contents of the program

During playback or when playback is paused, turn
the

MULTI JOG

dial on the main unit or use the

SKIP

keys on the remote control.

Erasing the entire program

When playback is stopped during program playback
mode, press the

STOP

key to erase the entire contents

of the program.

In addition, pressing the

PLAY MODE

key on the

main unit or the

P.MODE

key on the remote control

to change the playback mode also completely erases
the contents of the program.

Removing a track from the program

When stopped, press the

ESCAPE

key on the main

unit or the

ESC/CLR

on the remote control to remove

the last track in the program.

Adding a track to the program

1. When stopped, use the

MULTI JOG

dial on the main

unit or the number keys on the remote control to
show the track that you want to add in the track
display area.

2. Press the

ENTER

key to add this track to the end of

the program.

Program restrictions

When group mode is ON, you cannot create a program

with tracks from more than one group.

You can repeat the same track in a program.

The maximum number of tracks in a program is 32. If

you try to add more tracks, “PGM Full!” appears and
they will not be added to the program.

In program mode, if you press the

PLAY

key when there

is no program data, “PGM Empty!” appears and the
deck does not operate.

Program data retention

Program data is retained after program playback com-

pletes and when the

STOP

key is used to stop playback.

Program playback mode stays active even when the

power is turned OFF, but program data is erased.

When stopped, pressing the

STOP

key on the main unit

or the remote control discards the program data.

When stopped, pressing the

PLAY MODE

key on the

main unit or the

P.MODE

key on the remote control

exits program mode and discards the program data.

If group mode is turned on or off, the program data is

discarded.

If a different group is selected when group mode is on,

the program data is discarded.

If an MD is ejected, the program data is discarded. (The

playback mode is not changed.).

Random playback

In this mode, the unit plays all the tracks on a disc in
random order regardless of track number.

1. When stopped, press the

PLAY MODE

key on the

main unit or the

P.MODE

key on the remote control

until “RANDOM” lights on the display.

2. Press the

PLAY

key on the main unit or the remote

control to start random playback.

NOTE

Random mode stays active even when the power is
turned OFF.

Changing the time and character

information display

Changing the time display

ª

During playback (or playback standby), press the

TIME

key on the main unit or the remote control to

change the time display option. (The “REMAIN”
indicator is lit when the second option is active.)
During playback: track elapsed time, track remaining
time (“REMAIN” lit)

During recording: record elapsed time, disc remaining
time (“REMAIN” lit)

NOTE

The track remaining time display during playback is

the amount of time needed to play until the track
end. Note that this differs from the remaining time
display during recording.
The total playback time is always shown when

playback is stopped.
