2 Xonar U3 Quick Start Guide
1. Package contents
Check your ASUS Xonar U3 external USB audio card package for the following items:
• ASUS Xonar U3 external USB audio card
• S/PDIF TOSLINK optical adapter x 
• Driver / User Manual CD x 
• Quick Start Guide x 
2. System requirements
To ensure a successful installation of the Xonar U3 external USB audio card, your computer must
meet the following requirements:
• IBM compatible PC with one USB. (or higher) compatible port for the USB audio device
• Microsoft ® Windows ® 7 / Vista / XP(32/64bit) / MCE2005
• Intel ® Pentium ® 4 .4GHz or AMD Athlon 400 CPU or faster CPU
• 256 MB DRAM system memory
• 60 MB available HDD space for driver installation package
• CD-ROM drive (or DVD-ROM drive) for software installation
• High-quality headphones or powered analog speakers to enjoy the ultra-high fidelity sound of
the card
3. Card Installation
Connect the USB connector to any USB 2.0 port on your notebook or PC as the following drawing
shows.
