USEFUL TIPS

Short haircut (Figure 3)

To make a short haircut you will need the at-

tachment combs No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 (leaving the hair
3, 6, 9 and 12 mm long). Do not forget to change
the combs when switching to different parts of the
head (Figure 3a).

Comb the hair thoroughly before starting to cut.
Begin cutting from the back of the head. First cut the hair at the
back of the head using the attachment comb No. 4 just to
shorten the hair a little. When cutting, hold the clipper firmly in
your hand. Cut the hair with short upward strokes (opposite to
the direction in which the hairs grow), tilting the blades (2) up
a little as shown on Figure 3b. After all the hair at the back of
the head is cut uniformly with attachment comb No. 4 (hair
length 12 mm), change it to the comb with next lower number
(see Figure 3a). Cut the hair at the back of the head once
more. Pause several times and comb the hair to see the result.
Cut the hair at the sides and at the top of the head in the same
manner. At the top of the head move the clipper from fore-
head to the top, opposite to the direction in which the hairs
grow (see Figure 3c). Trim the hair at the top so that it is even
with the sides. Comb the hair to see the result.
To trim the whiskers and shape the hair at the back of the head
remove the attachment comb and set the adjustable taper
control lever (4) to the uppermost position (very short hair).
Trim the hair at the edges holding the clipper upturned and at
a right angle to the skin, moving downwards, just touching the
hair (Figure 3d).
To cut the hair around the ears also use the clipper without the
attachment combs. Comb the hair around the ears thoroughly.
Set the upturned clipper between the whisker’s and the ear
and check that the blade is at an angle to the hairline. Using
only the clipper tip follow slowly the shape needed (Figures
3e and 3f). Hold the clipper at a right angle to the skin to
avoid injuries.

Medium haircut (Figure 4)

To make a medium haircut you will need the attachment combs

No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 (leaving hair of 3, 6, 9 and 12 mm long). Do not
forget to change the combs when switching to different parts of
the head (Figure 4a). Doing this hairstyle you will get a flat
surface at the top of the head.

The most important thing in making a good haircut is to dry the
hair in the right manner. Dry the hair with a hairdryer blow
drying it in an opposite direction to which the hairs grow to
give body and style (Figure 4b).
Begin cutting from the sides and the back of the head using
attachment combs shown in Figure 4a (for cutting technique
