Managing Users and User Rights
6.1.
Introduction
The users and user rights of the application are managed in the MADConfig application.
This application allows the system administrator to:
•
create users for the application within a department of a company;
•
assign a username and password to log into the application;
•
create user groups and assign user rights to each group;
•
add users to a user group.
For more information about how to perform these actions, see the MADConfig user
manual.
6.2.
User Rights Structure
The structure of the user rights is User / Group / Role.
6.2.1.
User Groups
All users are put into groups. Each user is member of one or more user groups. All groups
have at least one role assigned.
6.2.2.
Roles
A role is a user right. It allows a user to perform certain actions in the application. Roles
are not assigned to users, but to groups.
