Installation:
1) Place jack under ATV and lift until wheels clear the ground. Be careful to support ATV properly so that it
is secure, but so that the shocks, front or rear whichever one you are working with, can droop to full
extension.
2) Remove wheels and shocks.
3) Using a spring compressor, compress spring and remove the retaining clip.
NOTE: Honda 450 front and rear shock will need to be unscrewed for models up to year 2001. In 2002 the
Honda 450 used a clip to hold the spring in place.
4) To disassemble the 450 shocks you must first compress the spring to reveal the nut in the shock. Once you
see the nut, compress the spring enough to get a pair of vise-grip pliers between the nut and the spring.
