5. Once you remove the lower ball joint, you will need to grind ¼” of material from the lower control arm.
Make sure to use some paint to touch up the area where you removed material so that it does not rust.
6. When you finish grinding and painting reconnect the ball joint to the lower control arm. DO NOT
CONNECT TO THE KNUCKLE AT THIS TIME!
7. Open the hood and locate the bolts to the top of the struts and disconnect the top of the strut from the
frame.
NOTE: When you disconnect the top of the strut from the frame with the axle still attached to the
knuckle make sure you do not pull the axle out of the differential!
